We live 35 minutes from the cruise terminal — and we send clients through it nearly every week. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Princess all sail from Channelside. Here's the practical Tampa-local breakdown most national agencies don't have.
Where to stay the night before sailing
Walkable to the port (Water Street): JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, Tampa Marriott Water Street, Westin Tampa Waterside. All within a 10-minute walk to the terminal and the Tampa Riverwalk.
Best 1-night pre-cruise hotels in Carrollwood / North Tampa: the Westshore Plaza Renaissance and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa-USF. Both sit 15–20 minutes from the port and are convenient if you're flying into TPA the same evening or driving down from the Carrollwood, Lutz, or Wesley Chapel side of town. We routinely route clients here when Water Street rates spike on weekends.
Parking for a 7-night sailing
- Official Port Tampa Bay garages — about $15/day, walking distance from the terminals. Reserve in advance online; they sell out on busy weekends. For a 7-night sailing, expect roughly $105 total.
- Park 'N Cruise / Park 'N Go (off-site) — $7–10/day with a free shuttle. The smarter value for any sailing 5 nights or longer. Total around $50–70 for a week.
- Hotel park-and-cruise packages — many Water Street hotels include a parking-while-you-sail option for $99–149 flat. Worth running the math if you're already booking a pre-cruise night.
Tampa landmarks worth your day-before
Build in a full day before embarkation if you can. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is 25 minutes north — easy if you're already in Carrollwood. Raymond James Stadium (home of the Buccaneers) sits between TPA and the port and is worth a drive-by on game weekends. The Tampa Riverwalk connects the port to the Tampa Bay History Center, the Florida Aquarium, and Sparkman Wharf for dinner. Save Bern's Steakhouse in Hyde Park for the night before — book it three weeks ahead.

- No. While our office is in Dade City, just outside Tampa, we plan trips for clients in all 50 states. Most consultations happen by phone, video call, or email — and our advisors travel to meet clients regionally for complex planning when it makes sense.

- Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern. Saturdays 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern. Closed Sundays. We respond to urgent in-trip issues outside of business hours — if you're traveling with us, you have a direct line.
